Baker King, Kim Tak Gu Episode 17 Summary
All this time, I kept saying that I don’t really like this drama. But yet, I always find myself watching it anyway. So that’s why I think maybe it’s gonna be good for me to write the summary.
A little refresh on episode 16, Gu Majun had a visit from his mom and Tak Gu finally found out the real identity of his roomate, Seo Tae Jo. Seeing the scene, Kim Tak Gu was so shock that he couldn’t do nor say anything but dropping jaw and uttered “Seo Teo Jo, how could you…”
I thought Majun’s mom was gonna leave without knowing Tak Gu’s identity…but Misun came out and blew everything. She called Tak Gu’s name before the lady was far enough. So the thrill continued and she was finally confirm when Tak Gu greeted her “It’s been a long time, Little Lady.”
Meanwhile, Tak Gu’s mom was still searching fr his lost son. He got an info that a man had met Tak Gu 12 years ago. He was actually one of the fishermen who was suppose to sell Tak Gu overseas, but failed the mission since the boy fled. Mrs. Misun couldn’t hold her emotion and freaked out in that restaurant. She’s surely in a very deep pain that she said she wouldn’t ever forgive those people who made them suffer.
Majun and Tak Gu were back to cold war. Tak Gu then stormed out to Yu Gyong’s old place without knowing that she had long kicked out. I don’t like Tak Gu’s character for this reason…he’s trying to be the man on his words but yet too innocent to be a hero of this world. I mean, how could he believe Tae Jo just like that?
Speaking about Yu Gyong. She was given a hard time in the office and forced to resign by Mr. Han. Yu Gyong of course refused the scheme, but didn’t know yet what she’s about to do. However, one thing for sure…she didn’t forget Tak Gu. She’s been waiting for the day of the reunion with him.
The day of the competition was getting closer to everyone. Tak Gu still struggling to make a proper bread. To his surprise, the kid and the mother from the market stop by to say hello and eat bread. Tak Gu served them other breads but Misun interfered and served the guests Tak Gu’s bread. The kid said the bread was good, but the mother was more honest. The bread was a bit hard. She then gave Tak Gu a few advices…
Along with the advice he got from his father who showed up the other day, Tak Gu got the idea of making a good bread this time. The keyword was moisture.
Misun actually found Yu Gyong’s letter for Tak Gu the other day, but she hesitated to give him since the day of the competition was coming. And Tak Gu was on his high spirit of making bread. That night she was about to give it anyway to Tak Gu, but that man for the first time in his working time at Palbong…successfully made a very good bread! Tak Gu was at joy and he was ready for the competition.
Tak Gu decided to treat Majun as Seo Tae Jo and continued on being friendly. Majun asked him, “Do you mean, you just want to be friend with Seo Tae Jo but not Gu Majun?” Tak Gu didn’t answer.
Meanwhile, Jin Gu met someone at the bakery the other day who told him that Director Gu wanted to see him. They met and Director Gu asked Jin Gu some questions. But Jin Gu refused to tell him anything until he could answer his questions “What would you do with your lost son if you met him? What would you say to him since you’re the one who separated him from his mother?” Jin Gu then told Director Gu that he actually had known Kim Tak Gu’s whereabout, but he refused to tell him anything.
The day of the competition was finally coming. Everyone was doing their best. Misun, Tae Jo, Jae Bok and Tak Gu. Misun made a cake-bread bread, Tae Jo made a a very highskilled bread, Jae Bok made a good effort too….and the less impressive bread belong to Kim Tak Gu. However, when Mr. Palbong judging all the four breads…Tak Gu’s bread was the best smell of them all and it taste very good as well. Jae Bok didn’t pass this round, he’s eliminated.
Tak Gu, Misun, and Jae Bok were out for drinks and celebrate Tak Gu’s success in the competition. Misun finally decided to give Yu Gyong’s letter to Tak Gu. She asked him to meet her at a certain meeting point at 6 o’clock. Tak Gu rushed there.
Yu Gyong was actually ready to meet Tak Gu, but suddenly the office called her and it turned out to be the Madame summoning her to the great mansion. She had a very evil plan. Just in the same time, Majun was also summoned, but of course for a very different purpose. She’s trying to set Majun in an arrange date and she made Yu Gyong standing there waiting and witnessing the whole family scene. I hate Yu Gyong for being so patient about it. Majun was doing the right thing when he got so sick of the scheme and dragged Yu Gyong out of his house.
Meanwhile…hours had passed and Tak Gu was still waiting……
At Palbong bakery, a visitor came. Directore Gu. Just the right moment Jin Gu was coming out. Director Gu asked to meet Tak Gu.
I guess next episode will be very interesting.
